Punters are flocking to their favorite betting sites as National Hockey League action heats up.

Today, the Montreal Canadiens meet the Toronto Maple Leafs in an early Saturday game.

For the first time, the Hockey Night, Canada's oldest sports related TV program, will air the game in 3D.

Jim Hughson, the play-by-play announcer for Saturday's game said: "It's like dabbling your toes in the water and trying to get a feel for it."

Hughson wasn't too keen on 3D broadcasting until he watched the 2010 NHL Winter Classics in this format and became a convert.

"I put the glasses on and was absolutely blown away," he said.

Montreal Canadiens are the toughest team to score on in the NHL, and they allow just 1.9 goals per game.

The team also leads the league in power play goals allowed (0.4 per game).

In addition, Montreal also leads the league in penalty killing at 89.3%

The Toronto Maple Leafs give up the fewest power plays in the league, allowing 3.1 per game.

They also have the second worst penalty killing in the league at 76.1%.
